Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that the second in-person Quad Leaders’ Summit in Japan will provide an opportunity for leaders from four countries to review the progress of the grouping’s initiatives and exchange views on developments in the Indo-pacific as well as global issues of mutual interest. PM Narendra Modi stated in his departure statement just before his visit to japan Japan on May 23-24 that he will have a bilateral meeting with US President Joe Biden during his tour, during which they will discuss further deepening of the multifaceted bilateral relations.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi will fly to Tokyo for his second Quad Summit in person. PM Narendra Modi will also attend the second in-person Quad Leaders’Summit in Japan, which will allow the leaders of the four Quad countries to assess the progress of Quad projects, according to Mr. Modi.
India, the United States, Japan, and Australia are members of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue. Mr. Modi also mentioned that Anthony Albanese, Australia’s newly elected Prime Minister, will be attending the Quad Leaders’ Summit for the first time.

“I am looking forward to a bilateral meeting with him,” Mr. Modi said, “during which we will address the diverse collaboration between India and Australia under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, as well as regional and global problems of common concern.”
He said he’ll be in Tokyo at the request of his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida, and said he hosted Mr. Kishida for the 14th India-Japan Annual Summit in March 2022.
“I look forward to continuing our discourse during my visit to Tokyo with the goal of strengthening the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership,” Mr. Modi said.
QUAD Summit
The Quad Summit will provide an opportunity to assess the status of the group’s initiatives. The Quad (Japan, Australia, India, and the United States) share common principles and are dedicated to promoting a free and open international order based on the rule of law.
 To realize a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP),” the four countries have been fostering practical cooperation in a variety of domains, including vaccines, infrastructure, climate change, and essential and emerging technologies. The four countries all agreed on the significance of contributing positively to the area.
