The Bharatiya Janata Party has chosen Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar as NDA’s Vice President candidate. Jagdeep Dhankhar’s experience in a rural background and Jat community will act in favor of the BJP.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also hailed Jagdeep Dhankhar as “Kisan Putra” and tweeted, “Kisan Putra Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji is known for his humanity. He brings with him an illustrious legal, legislative and gubernatorial career. He has always worked for the well-being of farmers, youth, women, and the marginalized. Glad that he will be our VP candidate.”
The elections for the post will be held on August 6, 2022. This election will help BJP to take under control the rich political dividends in Rajasthan and Haryana polls, in 2024, and his humble background of Dhankhar and his ability to connect with people.
West Bengal government, Jagdeep Dhankhar, has vast constitutional knowledge. He was elected to Ninth Lok Sabha, from Jhunjhunu Parliamentary Constituency in 1989 and served as minister in the state of parliament affairs at Chandra Shekhar government. He was also elected to Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from the Krishnagar Constituency in the Ajmer district.
Dhankhar also served in the Lok Sabha and Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. He was a senior advocate at Rajasthan High Court and Supreme Court.
Dhankhar was elected as the Governor of West Bengal on July 30. 2019. He always followed the law and Constitution when there were concerns with Mamata Banerjee’s administration and the state legislature.
Narendra Modi tweeted that, Jagdeep Dhankhar has an excellent knowledge of the Constitution and will lead the nation to the path of progress. He also added that Dhankhar has huge knowledge and grip on legislative affairs.
Modi said that Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji will be an outstanding Chair in the Rajya Sabha. By electing him as the VP candidate, BJP is trying to promote that it is a pro-farmer party.
The position of Jagdeep Dhankhar as the Vice President will increase his political and legal experience and will help BJP to pass bills in the Upper House and facilitate them in running the House, where the Opposition is dominant. However, Dhankhar aims at increasing Rajya Sabha’s productivity and reaching a consensus on pending bills.
The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamta Banerjee has had a thundering relationship with the Governor of Bengal. Mr. Jagdeep Dhankhar. The CM has written several complaint letters against the Governor.
The primary reason for the complaint in the letters was the difficulties that the state government faced from the Governor in case of procedures or file movements, clearance of files, calling the chief secretary and other state-level senior officials on nominal issues.
The Rajasthan and Haryana Assembly elections will have quite several Jat voters in the Assembly election of 2024 and 2024. They make up almost 25-28 percent of the population and have a significant impact in the Shekhawati and Marwar regions.
The Jat community has been ruling over Haryana’s politics for decades. BJP got to hope for a political comeback in 2014 for the caste equation’s arithmetic.
