Police said that the 35-year-old grocery shop owner was stabbed to death in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district on Tuesday night. Station House Officer, Moti Lal stated that Sanjay Somani and Rahul Raiger were traveling together in the car and Somani was driving while Rahul Raiger was sitting in the rear seat. When the car reached outside town, Rahul Raiger reportedly stabbed Somani from behind. Somani was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries, police said, adding that the accused is currently on the run, police said.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Rahul Raiger used to work at Somani’s grocery shop previously and there is a possible angle of some monetary dispute between them but it would become more clear after the accused is arrested, he said.
A man and his son Rajasthan: a Grocery store owner were found murdered in a hotel room
In another incident, a man and his son were found murdered in a hotel room in Ranchi with their throats slit with a sharp object, the police said on Monday. The deceased, identified as Nageshwar Mehta, and his son Abhishek Mehta were residents of Hazaribagh district’s Ichak block, reported news agency PTI.
The incident took place on Sunday, in a hotel on Station Road at night. The police suspect that the father-son duo was drugged before being killed. The family said that the two had gone to Ranchi for Abhishek’s interview for a diploma in pharmacy, said Superintendent of Police, Ranchi City, Anshuman Kumar.
A Special Investigation Team has been gathered to investigate the murders by Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police Surendra Kumar Jha. The murder site and the hotel room were also visited by a forensic team.
