Rajnath Singh attended the 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations and announced setting up Joint Theatre Commands. He also referred to India’s victory over Pakistan in the 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations. India will be victorious in future wars too, Rajnath Singh said.
Historically Indian armed forces have always faced problems with combined arms action post Independence. Rajnath Singh also spoke about Indian sovereignty over Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK)
He was addressing a function organized by the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Forum, an offshoot of the RSS. He spoke in connection with the 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas.
“Drawing a lesson from the coordination seen between the Army, Airforce, and Navy during the Kargil War, we have decided to set up joint theatre commands in the country. The work in that direction is going on at a fast pace”, he said. Rajnath Singh also referred to India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil war. India would emerge victorious again if a war happened in the future.

Soon Rajnath Singh asserted Indian territorial sovereignty over Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir will always be an integral part of India, and the government is ensuring that the Union Territory, like the rest of the country reaches newer heights of progress.

After speaking briefly on the formation of joint theater commands, Rajnath Singh pitched to reclaim POK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir).
“ POK is part of Indian territory and will continue to do so. How is it possible that Baba Amarnath is in India and Maa Sharda Shakti is across the Line-of-Control?” he said. God has given better sense to Pakistan
Without mentioning China or Pakistan, Rajnath Singh said, During the Kargil war, many foreign powers reminded India of Pakistan’s nuclear power. But it was not acceptable to us to succumb to any foreign pressure and we emerged victorious.
I can say with confidence that in future also, if foreign powers dared to look at India and there is war, India will be victorious again.”
Indian Forces Have Contributed a Lot to Maintain J&K: Rajnath Singh
Indian soldiers have a lot of contribution to maintaining the present-day map of Jammu & Kashmir, Rajnath Singh said. The Armed forces have previously conducted operations, they are still conducting and will further conduct them, he added. So far Pakistan has not threatened Indian borders, but Chinese forces are operating in Ladakh.
“ For two decades, it ( Pakistan) has tried to bleed India with a thousand cuts. But time and time again, our brave soldiers have shown that no one can disturb the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of India, ”he said.
“ The 1962 war had made it clear that Chinese intentions were not good”, Rajnath Singh said. He added that Jawaharlal Nehru was the Indian PM back then.
“Many people criticize Nehru on that count. I come from a political party and I do not want to criticize any PM. I know there cannot be wrong in anybody’s intentions, but there can be deficiencies in their policies. But we could not make up for the losses suffered then. However, India was no longer a weak nation,” he added.
