Filming for The Indians 2 resumed following Shankar’s legal dispute with Lyca Productions. Filming for the film came to a halt when a bizarre accident in Chennai killed three crew members. The subsequent Covid-induced shutdown further delayed the production of the film. Shankar had a public run-in with the producer, who even filed a lawsuit against him. With the fate of Indian 2 still unclear, Shankar began filming RC15 with Telugu star Ram Charan. Filmmaker Shankar will shoot two films at the same time. “Hi everyone, Indian 2 and #RC1willill be filming at the same time. Get ready to film the next program of #RC15 in Hyderabad and Vizag from the first week of September!” he recently posted on his Twitter account.
It’s a new precedent for Shankar, whose career has spanned three decades. The filmmaker is known for focusing all of his energy, resources, and time on one project at a time. However, the unexpected events of recent years have forced filmmakers into uncharted territory.
It looks like Red Gaint Movies is about to join in as one of the producers allows Shankar to pull Indian 2 out of the woods. Actor and producer Udayanidi Stalin unveiled a new poster for the film earlier this week.
Notably, Udhayanidhi released Kamal Haasan’s previous film Vikram (2022), the highest-grossing Tamil film to date.
Very little is known about the plot of the RC15. The film began production in September last year. The film was financed by Dil Raju and also starred Kiara Advani.
Superstar Kalam Charan and director Shankar are busy filming their pan-Indian film tentatively titled “RC 15”. Dil Raju and Sirish fund the project under the name of Sri Venkateswara Creations. Currently, the RC 15 shooting incident is taking place at a school in Saroornagar, Hyderabad. Kiara Advani plays the female lead opposite Ram Charan in the film, which also features Anjali, Jayaram, Sunil, Srikanth, Naveen Chandra, Nassar, Raghu Babu and Samuthirakani in key roles. RC 15’s technical team includes editor Shameer Muhammed, cinematographers Tirru and R Rathnavelu, and music director S Thaman.
Both movies are highly expected by the audience.
