It is not easy to find one’s feet straightaway while performing a comeback, but Yashasvi Jaiswal has proved it by doing it twice this season. The first great performance after a comeback was for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 15 and the other was in the knockouts for Ranji Trophy Jaiswal.
Jaiswal top-scored for Mumbai with 78 off 163 balls as his team completed at 248 for five on the very first opening day of the national championship final that was against Madhya Pradesh which took place here in the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Though Jaiswal failed to score his fourth consecutive First-Class hundred, still he continued to chase his dream run which has seen him mark up scores of 35 & 103 in the quarterfinals that were against Uttarakhand, and for the semi-finals, he scored 100 & 181 against Uttar Pradesh.
After the day’s play, Jaiswal asserted that “ I think I’m blessed. I have really worked hard and I trust my skills in every way. I was waiting for this chance to score runs”. Jaiswal who is 20 years old has done extremely well to balance from white-ball to red-ball formats in a real quick time.
He further narrated another similar story in IPL 15 by saying that “ The same happened in the IPL. I got 3 games out but again came back into the field after seven games. Working hard every day is important and that’s what makes me more consistent in the games. Moreover, Zubin sir ( who is the director of cricket at RR) motivated me all the time”.
He even acknowledged Mumbai coach Amol Mazumdar too for helping and guiding him to climb a remarkable comeback in this season of the Ranji Trophy Jaiswal.
