Recently, Former Royal Challengers Bangalore RCB player Daniel Vettori has expressed his opinion saying that Mumbai India (MI)’s player Ishan Kishan should be moved down on the batting order.
This statement has come up after Kishan’s poor performance in the IPL this year when Vittori was asked about whether, the team will retain Kishan for the next year’s IPL or not. The wicket-keeper/batsman had started off well, as he had made 81 runs against Delhi Capitals which was followed by 43 balls 54 in the next match. However, the player’s performance dropped as the tournament progressed as he could only make 50 runs in the last 5 innings.
Kishan was bought by MI at INR 15.25 crore which was the highest amount the team paid for any player.
In the same interview, Vittori made other such remarks as well. He suggested that the team should make Tim David and Kieorran Pollard to play together and drop Australia’s Daniel Sams for the next year.
He said
“I think Tim David should come into the team, but I think I’ll probably more likely bring him in for Daniel Sams. I think Pollard and Tim David could form a lethal combination at the backend of the innings and I think that will put a lot of fear into the opposition teams,”
Mumbai Indians as a team were not able to play well in this year’s IPL as the team lost 8 matches back-to-back. The team, however, managed to win its match against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday. Mumbai Indians won this match by 5 wickets. Ishan Kishan could only manage to score some 26 runs before he got out.
In an interview after the win against RR in Saturday’s match Ishan Kishan has stated that the team wants to win all the other matches.
