Winner Real Madrid again emerge victorious in the final of a UEFA competition. Real Madrid faced Eintracht Frankfurt in an ever-enthralling UEFA Super Cup final.
Real Madrid once again with their experience and individual brilliance has managed to get better off their opponents. Courtesy of goals from the Austrian defender David Alaba and the French man Karim Benzema, thirteen times Champions League winners Real Madrid added another trophy to their cabinet.
Despite gritty dominating performance from the German club Frankfurt in the first half they failed to get better off the Spanish capitals’ club. Just like their entire UEFA Champions League campaign of 2021-22 season, Real Madrid’s intelligence and experience has helped them to add another feather to their cap.
Particularly, it was a memorable night for French Talismanic striker Karim Benzema. His latest goal against Frankfurt has made him second-highest goal-scorer in the history of the Real Madrid. He surpassed the club legend Raul Gonzalez with the total of 324 goals to his name playing for Real Madrid.
Karim Benzema who’s being seen as the perfect man to win Ballond’or this year, has bagged UEFA player of the season award. Meanwhile, his striking partner and the Brazilian youngster Vinicius Jr. has won UEFA young player of the year.
Though Real Madrid made it look very easy to win the game. The Italian head coach of Real Madrid Carlo Ancelotti had a different opinion.
“It wasn’t an easy game, they were entrenched in their own half, but we managed to score, and we controlled it well afterwards” says Don Carlo Ancelotti.
The football fans will know how difficult it is for the players to perform up to the mark in the initial stages of the season, even Carlo Ancelotti opined the same.
“At the start of the season, you can’t expect the team to be already 100 percent, but we won, and we have started the season well. I believe it can help us achieve better results and winning helps motivate the players”
It is going to be interesting to see whether Real Madrid can win the trophies at the end of the season as well.
