Due to the increasing pollution levels and very poor air quality in our NCR-Delhi, there is a high demand for the sales of Air purifiers.
Need for Air Purifiers
Air purifiers are devices that remove unwanted particles from the air, inside a room thereby improving the quality of air. It is clear from the studies that indoor air gets five times more polluted than outdoor air. This will increase the probability of airborne diseases and breathing disorders. This led to the need for air purifiers which are the greater sources of providing pure air.
Increasing demand for Air purifiers
The quality of air in Delhi is deteriorating due to several factors such as the use of crackers, weather patterns, pollution, etc. As there is a subsequent reduction in COVID cases due to high outdoor mobility and limited masking, retailers say that there is a high need for air purifiers after these two years. Compared to the last two years, in the past 10 days, there has been a 30-40% surge among people buying air purifiers in Delhi and Mumbai.
Brand’s Views on Air purifiers
LG Electronics India, vice president Deepak Bansal, said, “The sensitivity towards health issues among the customers makes them buy it and this is growing at a high double-digit”.
According to various brands, India has a seasonal market of about Rs 300 crores sales starting from Diwali and continues up to one month. The Delhi government has also taken steps to improve the quality of air by banning more construction and demolition activities.
Mr. B. Thiagarajan, M.D, Blue Star, stated, “As the air quality gets worse, the need for these categories increases for a few weeks. Now, these air purifiers are inbuilt into most of the new air conditioner models”. For the past two years, most people stayed indoors and they didn’t feel the bad air. Awareness has been created by these brands in making the customers buy air purifiers for a year due to worse indoor air quality. The price of air purifiers has also come down from Rs 9000 to Rs 6000.
