He will replace Brijesh Patel who held this position since 2019 and is forced to leave this position because of the age cap of 70 years, which is the maximum permitted age for any official in BCCI.
Along with Roger Binny, there are a couple of new faces who are joining the BCCI administration. Ashish Shelar, who has served as the president of the Mumbai cricket association (2017-2019) and will join as treasurer, and Devajit Saikia, who will be serving as the joint secretary. The joint secretary will be the Assam Cricket Association’s current Secretary.

Avishek Dalmiya, the son of former BCCI and ICC big-wig Jagmohan Dalmiya, will also be a member of the governing council. Khairul Majumdar, the BCCI’s general body representative on the board’s Apex Council, will be replaced by Avishek, the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal.
