The yacht-inspired car that now retails at a world-class exorbitant price, retails for a whopping Rs. 240 Crores.
It was only a few hours ago that the official release of the customized droptail vehicle by Rolls Royce made its debut as the world’s most expensively priced car. The car is projected for over $30 million, and is one of the only four such expensively eccentric commissions by the makers.
Observing an homage to the family’s matriarch the car bears a deep meaning and a lavish tribune. La Rose Noire, sparks inspiration from the black baccara rose that is an unnatural bred rose exuding one of the most distinctive colors. While the possibility of a black rose is not observable, this flower has two primary colours, shifting between black and a deep red once exposed to light. Owing to a similar epithet, the automobile features a shifting shade on the boat tail that is a result of five layers of lacquer and varying tones of red, alongside the 22-inch alloy which sports a shade of black that appears red under sunlight. The charismatic colour variation is also the result of a secret base layer applied through the chrome plating process.
Design details
The droptail two-seat roadster has a removable hardtop that is made from electrochromic glass as well as carbon fiber. The famed yacht-inspired exterior primarily comes from the low-slung roof and a luxurious surface finish. An ode to the traditional pantheon-style grille, has been described as a new design as a ‘templebrow hang’ by the company themselves. The interior transcribes with the less is more expression of minimalistic three primary buttons on the curved shawl-style wooden dashboard and a matching champagne chest, with the controls being located in the center console.
The cabin is a commemoration of more than 1,600 wood pieces being hand-finished and hand-placed over the course of two years. The dashboard featured a total of 533 painted asymmetrical red triangles denoting the falling petals of the flower. A concept of the Audemars piguet royal oak has also been a timeless addition at the centre of the dash.
Smaller than the Rolls Royce Spectre, the car being 5.3 metres long and 2 metres wide is still a ravishing choice. As previously mentioned about the low-slung roof, it also features a steep slope towards the rare, accompanied by its removable nature. The long tail section of the boat tail gives a rather sportier look and feel and is powered by a 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine that produces 601 hp of maximum power and 840 Nm of peak Torque, stating slight familiarities with the performance specs of the Rolls Royce ‘Ghost.’
Customary to the family traditions and the tributary inspiration, after four years the car was presented to the commissioning family at a private event in Pebble Beach and while reporting of a statement by the Chief executive officer of the finest car manufacturing company, Torsten Müller-Ötvös, said that the car was indeed a love story, unravelling its mystery onto the motor car, entailing the story of two level headed heads of a family in passionate love and to be part of such a story is nothing short of remarkable. The vehicle also stands as a ‘testament to the brand’s relentless pursuit of perfection’, the vehicle also brands the history of the company and the character of the commissioning client with its romantic and elegant and a final statement of ‘La Rose Noire Droptail, like the remarkable clients who dared to make such a potent and contemporary statement, will be written into Rolls-Royce history forever.”
