Russia to cooperate with India fully on the investigation of the planned suicide attack in India.
Federal Security Services (FSB) of Russia on Monday arrested an IS terrorist who was plotting to carry out a suicide attack in India.Â
The terrorist is a 30-year-old central Asian man who identifies himself as Azamov Mashahont. He had confessed to the FSB about his plans for an attack in India. FSB had also released a video of his interrogation.
He had confessed that he was to carry out the attack on one of the leaders of India’s ruling party. He was to receive help from his local contact in India. He revealed that he would have been made available with explosives, detonators and any other necessary equipment to carry out the suicide bombing.
The ISIS operative revealed that he was radicalized through Telegram. He had not actually met any of the leaders of the terrorist outfit.Â
In a press release, FSB revealed that the terrorist traveled to Turkey where he was given instructions and training to carry out a suicide attack by self-detonation on one of the political leaders of the ruling party.Â
Moscow made public the detention of the Islamic State terrorist in Russia just days after National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met with his counterpart Nikolai Patrushev.
It was noted that the terrorist was under an oath of allegiance to the Amir of the Islamic State, Abu al-Hasan al-Hashemi al-Qureshi who is known to be a self-proclaimed leader of the terrorist organization.
After Nupur Sharma made certain remarks about the Prophet on a live news television debate, it sparked controversy in India. BJP received a huge backlash for Sharma’s remarks. Opposition parties, Muslim communities and several Islamic Nations of the middle east slammed the govt for its spokesperson’s remarks.Â
In a disciplinary action, BJP suspended Nupur Sharma and expelled Naveen Kumar Jindal, another BJP leader for making similar remarks on the Prophet.
The IS and other such terrorist organizations, responsible for a series of attacks in Iraq and Syria have been banned in India under UAPA.
