- Since the Russian invasion, the UN Security Council has held a fifth briefing on Ukraine. It pulls a vote on a Russian-drafted announcement for support access and civilian protection in Ukraine.Â
- On Thursday, 3,810 people were evacuated from cities. This also included around 2,000 who left the surrounding city of Mariupol, Ukraine said.Â
- During the phone call on Friday, Joe Biden, US President, was looking forward to warning Chinese President Xi Jinping against supporting Russia.Â
- The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, accused Russia of committing “war crimes.”
- The World Health Organization says it confirmed 43 attacks on healthcare facilities in Ukraine.
PayPal has expanded its Payment Services to assist Ukrainian refugees and citizens
On Thursday, PayPal Holdings Inc. broadened its services to allow Ukrainian refugees and citizens to accept payments from abroad. A senior Ukrainian official called the move a huge help to citizens as Russian forces carry on attacking the country.
In addition, Dan Schulman, PayPal Chief Executive, told Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister, in a letter that Ukrainians would also be able to transfer funds from their PayPal accounts to entitled credit and debit cards. The company has renounced its fees on such transactions through June 30.
An official from the Foreign Ministry of China meets with Russia’s Ambassador to China
On March 17, a Chinese foreign ministry official met with Russia’s ambassador to China to share views on symbiotic relations, the Chinese foreign ministry said in a statement on Friday.
As per the statement, Cheng Guoping, Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Affairs at China’s foreign ministry, met with Andrey Denisov of Russia and shared views on symbiotic counter-terrorism and security cooperation.
US Lawmakers ‘Requested India to Use Its Influence’ On Russia’s Ukraine Invasion
