Russian Space Agency Chief had posted a viral video covering the flags of other countries while keeping the tricolor Indian Flag on the rocket.
On Thursday, a video showcased workers on the Baikonur launch pad working on the Soyuz rocket. They were seen covering the flags of the U.S., United Kingdom, and Japan while retaining the tricolor flag of India.
The Soyuz is scheduled to take 36 satellites on March 5. The video did not shop the workers covering up French and South Korean flags. Â
Russian Space Agency ROSCOSMOS Chief had commented that the workers might have felt that the rocket would look much more beautiful without some flags.
Â
Although the Russian Ministries do not confirm reasons for such a satirical video, it is speculated that it might be a backlash over Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom imposing severe sanctions over Russia since the start of the Ukraine-Russia crisis.
At the same time, India has been silent on the front and never publicly criticised Russia’s actions. India had even abstained from voting on the resolution introduced in the United Nations General Assembly condemning the actions of Russia so far. Â
In this context, new sanctions have been introduced by Japan, the U.S. and United Kingdom, and other countries around the world.
On Saturday United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom had prevented the Russian Banks from using SWIFT, the collective security system used by 11000 banks across 200 countries worldwide. Germany had also gone over its deal with Moscow regarding the Nord Stream 2. Â
Further details are still awaited regarding the crisis.
