Altman went on to praise Musk for his extraordinary abilities that had OpenAI, though he did not specify what these extraordinary abilities are but he did acknowledge the gravity of them.
According to a report by the New Yorker, which was provided last month, it gave an insightful overview regarding the situation of OpenAI when Elon Musk left the organization. Sam Altman revealed that after musk left the company, it was difficult for him to reorganize his entire life and also allocate more time to ensure sufficient funding for the development of the AI itself. He went on to describe how musk had a unique deep desire to save the world, but on his own terms.
Elon’s History with OpenAI
Elon musk was actually one of the co-founders of the company OpenAI but on a relative scale, he had a very limited role in the working of the organization. He provided the initial funding for the company itself and also served as a member of its board of directors.
His primary involvement was in the organizations establishment and supporting the mission of advancing artificial general intelligence for the benefit of all humanity.
As stated earlier, he stepped down from that role and left the company in 2018, so as to avoid potential conflicts that may arise with his other companies such as Tesla and SpaceX.
