Samsung Launches Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 with Water Resistance Build


The much-awaited Galaxy unpacks event on Wednesday witnessed the launch of Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3.

While the Galaxy Z Fold 3 succeeds Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip 3 can replace Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 5G. 

Tech-savvies going haywire as both the phones come with an IPX8 water-resistant build consisting of Samsung’s Armor Aluminum. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus offer maximum protection.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is also the first foldable phone portfolio to carry an S Pen support. Samsung even claims that they have augmented the durability of its flexible displays of the new models by about 80%.  

Price and Availability of these new launches  

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has been set at USD1,799.99 (roughly INR 1.33.600) for sale in The United States.

It shall be available in Phantom Black, Green and Silver options. As far as the storage is concerned, the storage configuration will have two options: 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB. 

In contrast, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is available at a quoted price of USD 999 (INR 74,200). Cream, Green, Gray, Lavender, Phantom Black, Pink and White serve as a part of the vast array of colour options to choose from.

Today, these phone models are available for pre-booking in The United States, Europe and South Korea.  

However, details regarding the sale of these much-awaited models in India are yet to be revealed.

But, to provide some perspective, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 was launched in September last year at USD 1,999 in The United States.

In India, it was priced at INR 1,49,999 just for the 12GB+256 GB storage option.  

On the other hand, Galaxy Z Flip arrived in The United States in February for USD 1,380. It launched in India at INR 1,09,999 for the single 8GB+256GB storage variant.  

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3: Look out for these features 

Featuring a 7.6-inch primary QXGA+ dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex, Samsung has boosted the resolution this time to deliver even better image results.

The model runs with the support of Android 11 with One UI on top. Even the cover screen has been updated to a 120Hz refresh rate.  

For photos and video, this model carries a triple rear camera just like the one before and is embedded with a 10-megapixel camera on its cover for high-quality selfies and video chats. Paired with an f/2.2 lens, it provides users with 80 degrees field of view.  

As mentioned earlier, Samsung even added S Pen support to this model in collaboration with Wacom.

This accessory is exclusive to the model and has no Bluetooth connectivity, while it does support Air command gestures and a pro tip.

Charging is facilitated through both wireless and wired options, along with reverse wireless charging.  

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3: Look out for these features  

This model, in particular, runs on One UI based on Android 11 and boasts a 6.7-inch primary full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display.

The display size is identical to the previous model, except it comes with a better pixel count.

It is indeed the optics that have created the maximum rave. This model has a dual rear camera setup that carries a 12-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 wide-angle lens along with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. Overall, this model looks quite familiar to the Galaxy Z Flip.  

Talking about the storage variants, this model comes with 128GB and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage facility.

Some of the many sensors accurate to this model are a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, geomagnetic, hall sensor, and proximity sensor.

The phone even supports both wireless and reverse wireless charging. 

With the advanced technology these models are equipped with, it will be a true delight to treat oneself with these latest Samsung mobile phones.
