Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of IPL 2024 following a stress fracture injury
The list of injured and replacement players keeps on growing ahead of the upcoming IPL season as now the team in pink Rajasthan Royals has named former SRH pacer Sandeep Sharma as a replacement for injured Prasidh Krishna who has been nursing a stress fracture injury and will not be able to recover in time to take part in the IPL.
Prasidh was instrumental for Rajasthan last season as he guided them to their second IPL final through his bowling. He bowled well last season and picked up wickets at regular intervals. Rajasthan’s strength was it is bowling last season be it spin or pace the bowling attack was on point last season and played a big impact in the team’s inspiring performance last season where they made it to only their second final in fifteen years. The duo of Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna were last season’s stand-out bowlers.
Their bowling was exemplary, especially at the death where they bowled pinpoint Yorkers which didn’t allow the batter to go for big shots in the last five overs.
Now that Prasidh Krishna is out injured and Sandeep Sharma has replaced him it would be interesting to see how the new fast-bowling pair of Sandeep Sharma and Trent Boult will perform in the upcoming season of the IPL.

Performance of Sandeep Sharma
Talking about Sandeep he has been a dark horse as far as bowling in IPL is concerned and has performed for every team that he has played for so far starting with Kings eleven Punjab (Former name of Punjab Kings in IPL 2014) where he troubled Virat Kohli with his bowling which was the thing that stood out in Sandeep’s favor and got him into the reckoning for selection in the Indian team when he was selected for the T20I series against Zimbabwe in July 2015.
Although he failed to deliver in his International debut series where he managed to pick up a solitary wicket in the two matches that he played in that series. But when it comes to IPL Sandeep has been a consistent performer for the two teams that he has played so far. He was instrumental in guiding SRH to the final of IPL 2018 where he was part of a very strong bowling lineup that included the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddharth Kaul, and Rashid Khan.
One of the many abilities of that bowling lineup was its ability to defend against low totals as it did in the match against Mumbai Indians where the orange army defended a low total of 118 runs successfully.
Unfortunately, since 2021 Sandeep hasn’t been able to perform consistently and stats prove that as well. The right arm has picked up just 5 wickets in 12 matches in the last two IPL seasons combined as a result he was not picked up by any team in the IPL auction which didn’t surprise many considering his dip in form in the last two IPL seasons.
Now that he has got a new life with Rajasthan Royals he will look to make the most of the opportunity. It can also prove to be a blessing in disguise for RR as the experience that Sandeep brings can prove to be handy for young players in the team
