During the third ODI encounter between India and West Indies, Young Indian batter Shubhman Gill was denied his century due to the rain. On Wednesday, India played their final ODI against Carribeans; Gill was batting at a personal score of 98 when rain interrupted the match.
Shubman Gill, who unfortunately could not convert his score into a century, said, āI was hoping to score a century, but it was not in my control. I was very disappointed with the way I got out in the first two ODIs. I tried to play according to the ball and let the situation dominate. I only wanted one more over, was hoping for that. The wicket showed a great game in all three matches. The ball was gripping a bit after 30 overs. I am happy with my performance.” during the post-match presentations.
However, the Gujarat Titans openers bagged the man of the match award for his contribution of 98 runs. Shubman has been in the finest form of his career. In the ODI series against West Indies, he scored 205 in three matches, for which he won the man of the series award.

Moreover, when the rain stopped, the contest was gone into the hands of DLS (Duckworth Lewis System), and the umpires decided to call upon the innings of India. According to DLS, West Indies was given the target of 257 in 35 overs. However, the Windies’ innings collapsed at the score of 137 and Men in blue marked their victory by 119 runs.
