The crowning of King Charles III in Westminster Abbey on May 6 was a historic event that all of us observed and the arrival of Sonam Kapoor was one of the occasion’s most welcome surprises.
The Royal family, church, and state are symbolically united during the ritual. The nation throws a huge party for the monarch to commemorate this historic event. To make this great party a historical spectacle, many performers from throughout the world gathered in London.
The pomp, grandeur, and symbolism have a history dating back more than a thousand years, but this king was observed to be crowned with modern twists on the custom and modifications from the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, his mother.
Sonam Kapoor’s presence at the coronation
The arrival of Sonam Kapoor was one of the occasion’s most welcome surprises. The actress is deeply anchored in Indian tradition and made sure to put India on the map of the world, which she dutifully did. Despite spending the most of her time in London, Sonam Kapoor remains as Indian as one can be. As she presented several choir participants from the Commonwealth at the Coronation Concert on Sunday and was indeed a vision in white.
Sonam Kapoor began her performance with the Indian traditional “Namaste.” Through her verbal performance, Sonam emphasized the variety of the Commonwealth and the unity that brings together the country. Sonam’s composition served as an introduction to the Commonwealth’s virtual choir performances, which featured choirs, solo singers, and duos from all 56 Commonwealth nations. The actress also introduced Steve Winwood, who later performed Higher Love in a contemporary rendition with a 70-piece orchestra.
Sonam’s look for the event:
The actor was gorgeous in the elegant Bardot gown created by Anamika Khanna and Emilia Wickstead in tandem. Calico patterns from the 17th and 18th centuries, which were frequently exchanged among India and the UK in the past, served as inspiration for the Indian designer, Anamika Khanna.
The blue, green, and red floral patterns by Anamika Khanna that were cascading down were clearly visible. When Sonam Kapoor comes on stage, it’s difficult to look away from her because of the ivory gown with the voluminously structured skirt and enticing bodice. Sonam’s custom floor-length dress for the concert has a shoulder band design that surrounds the corseted bodice and extends into an elaborate skirt trimmed with decorative godet pleats.
Sonam Kapoor ensured to leave no detail untouched when it came to hair and cosmetics. To prevent the erratic London weather from ruining her big fashion moment, her extravagant gown was complimented with subtle browns for eyes, flush pinks for the cheeks and lip, and a pristine even complexion. as for her hair, it was fashioned in gentle waves.
Sonam commented on how historical events like such demand for aesthetic and fashion moments while posting multiple images of herself wearing a white dress to Instagram. The actress had the honour of commemorating the historic Coronation concert by donning the joint creation of two of the most amazing designers from the two nations she is fortunate to call home.
