On early Thursday, Sony Pictures announced that the first official teaser for the next spider-man movie was viewed over 355.5 million times worldwide in the first 24 hours of its release.
Compared to Avengers: Endgame’s first trailer, it got 289 million views in the same period in December 2018.

To appreciate Steve Ditko, let’s take a movement, who co-created both Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, and here in the upcoming Spider-Man movie, they will be sharing the screen in an impossibly mega-budgeted film.
Trailer Breakdown:
The Fallout Far from Home
As we remember, the previous Spider-Man: Far from Home movie had a rather shocking ending that did not leave Peter in the best place. Thanks to the machinations of Mysterio, due to which the world now knows Peter Spider-Man.
We see glimpses of the combination of celebrity and pariah status in the opening moments, depicting that it has negatively affected MJ and Ned Leeds. Betty Brant is seen briefly on the TV screen; presumably, it may report this whole mess.
Damage Control
Someone in law enforcement is interrogating Peter, and it’s clear that Mysterio’s frame job is sticking pretty well. But as we look closely at the symbol on this guy jacket interviewing Peter.
He’s not an ordinary Cop; that’s DODC stands for Department of Damage Control. These are the folks who got called in to take care of all the messes created after big superhero/supervillain battles. Remember them from Spider-Man: Homecoming?
Paging Doctor Strange as Doctor Stephen Strange
Since Avenger: Endgame, Benedict Cumberbatch returns as Doctor Strange for the first time. However, in the trailer, he seems a little too eager to help Peter by casting a spell that will erase the world’s memory that Peter is Spider-Man.
Strange’s Broken Spell
Of course, we see anxious Peter have second thoughts at the last minute as he wants Aunt May, MJ, and Ned to remember that he’s Spider-Man.
Is something wrong with the doctor? At first, he never should have agreed to this. But for another, there is something mysterious happening in Sanctorum since it’s snowing indoors.
Is Doctor Strange having trouble with his magic? Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?
Peter’s interruption messes everything up. It sends Peter into other corners of the MCU multiverse allowing variants from other Spidey realities to filter into the Sacred Timeline. How? We have to learn by watching the movie.
Green Goblin
Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin is going to make his appearance!
Doctor Octopus Returns
The most significant applause moment in the trailer comes when the great big screen supervillains of all time, Alfred Molina, as Doctor Octopus, returns. Giving the Fans new speculation to whom is he saying “hello, Peter” at Tom Holland’s Peter Parker? Or is he addressing another Peter one played by Tobey Maguire?
Fan Theories going Viral
After the trailer was released, several fans on social media flooded it with fan theories.
Doctor Strange is Mephisto:
During Loki Web series and Wanda Vision, fans were sure Mephisto, Marvel’s devil, would wreak havoc in the MCU.
However, that did not happen in both shows, and both ended with different antagonists. But for now, fans are very positive Mephisto will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The trailer stems from the fact that Doctor Strange seems careless as he casts a wrong spell despite being a surgeon and even disobeying his friend Wong.
Doctor Strange is Dark Doctor Strange
This theory by the fan has the same roots as the previous, wherein the trailer the Wizard looks way out of character.
In Loki, Variants of the God of Mischief were part. Kang the Conqueror also revealed there would be another Multiversal war that millions of his variants would start.
Hence, this Doctor Strange is not too out of place to be an evil variant of the beloved Wizard. Also, in an upcoming episode of the show What If…? Doctor Strange will be in dark action.
