The upcoming season of IPL 2022 will see Suresh Raina and Ravi Shastri in a new role as commentators.
As per the report of Dainik Jagran, Suresh Raina and Ravi Shastri will be seen commencing the new role in the 15th season of Tata IPL. Raina and Shastri, former Indian cricketer and former India Head Coach, respectively are roped in to commentate in Hindi which will be telecasted on Star Sports Hindi.
The new season of Indian Premier League (IPL) is just ten days to go with ten teams competing against each other to win the Tata IPL 2022 trophy.
The league matches will be played in four stadiums of Maharashtra including Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, DY Patil Stadium and Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium (MCA).
Suresh Raina popularly known as Mr. IPL remained unsold in the mega auction held in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. He had set INR 2 crore as the base price but certainly didn’t interest any team, not even Chennai Super Kings (CSK) who had a remaining purse of INR 2.95 crore.
The fans were highly disappointed with a shocking exit of Mr. IPL and veteran Indian player at IPL auction. They were hoping for his comeback with Gujarat Titans after Jason Roy left the season tournament. However, Raina will be a part of IPL 2022 as a commentator along with Shastri.
Subsequently, former India Head coach Ravi Shastri, who is not a newbie with commentary, will be seen commentating after a long period of five years.
He will be seen doing commentary in Hindi which is new and challenging for him as in the past he has done commentary in English. Sources state that he is rehearsing Hindi language to be well versed with Hindi commentary during this league.
It will be really exciting to see both of them playing new innings in the 15th edition of the cash-rich league. With the return of Shastri as commentator after Champions Trophy 2017, Raina will be seen sharing his expert comments on the game starting from March 26.
