US police have arrested a suspect after six people were killed in the Independence Day parade near Chicago. According to police Robert E Crimo III who is 22 years old was arrested after a brief trial. At least 24 people were injured in Highland Park, Illinois after a gunman used a high-powered rifle to target people from the rooftop.
To this incident, President Joe Biden stated in utter shock that this is the latest mass shooting to hit the US. Mr. Crimo was arrested after a manhunt. He was referred to as a “person of interest” in Monday’s shooting, but after his arrest, the police believed he was responsible for this shooting. At around 10:15 local time the gunman opened fire at the parade, just after a few minutes the parade began.
There were a lot of ceremonies in the occasion of the city’s Independence Day celebrations that included in the event which includes floats, marching bands, and community entertainment.
But the event turned out to panic despite being the happiest days of the years with pushchairs, purses, and lawn chairs being thrown away on the street as crowds fled from the scene. Five adults were killed on the spot as well as another victim who died in a nearby hospital.
