Tamilnadu is facing troubles because of the heavy rains in the state. The Tamilnadu rains have already caused 26 deaths in the state so far. The Chief Minister (CM) of Tamilnadu has issued monetary relief in the state for the betterment of the affected people because of the heavy rains.
What actually happened during Tamilnadu Rains?
The northern monsoon has hit the southern state of India, Tamilnadu very badly this time. The rains started on October 29, said the sources. Till now, 10.04 mm of rainfall has been received in the last 24 hours, added the sources. This has affected the people of the state very much.
The mortality rate has increased. With 3 more people dying due to the rains, the new total number of people dead is now 26. 26 deaths have occurred since Saturday, October 29, 2022. On Saturday, 3 more people died. Every day, there is a minimum of 2 to 3 deaths reported from Chennai. Apart from Chennai, there are people dying in the adjoining areas of Chennai as well. Recently, one more person from Tiruvallur (a location near Chennai) died due to the heavy rains.
What will be the action of the government?
The government will be giving compensation/relief of Rs. 4 lakhs to every victim of the rains in the state.
Till now, Kodiyakari station, Nagapattinam district has received 9 cm of rain so far. Rameshwaram (Ramanathapuram) has received 8 cm of rain. Kottayam (Kanyakumari), Toothukudi (Kulasekarapattinum), etc places have also received about 7 cm of rain respectively.
The rains have created a lot of trouble and loss for all the people of all of the locations mentioned above.
The government will be taking further actions as soon as possible to help the people in need as much as the government can. The government is also trying to reach out to the people/families affected by the rains, so that relief may reach the affected families as safely as possible.
As of November 4, 2022, the Tamilnadu rains have already caused harm to 25 cattle (that is, 25 cattle have been lost so far amidst the heavy rains in the state). Apart from this, 140 huts have been damaged so far, added the officials of the government. Also, 64 trees have been uprooted, causing much harm to the roads in the respective places it has fallen in. The tree falling was caused due to the storms occurring in between the rains in Tamilnadu.
What further?
MK Stalin, the Chief Minister (CM) of Tamilnadu has officially announced that the families affected by Tamilnadu rains will be getting relief of Rs. 4 Lakhs each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. According to the sources, ministers of the state, K N Nehru and P K Sekhar Babu will be meeting the affected families to console them with the relief fund.
As per the public works department of Tamilnadu, 2480 tanks out of 14138 tanks are already complete due to the rains, which means 75% of the water is filled.
