Tata Motors started bookings for their new CNG vehicles, which will launch on January 19, 2022. These two vehicles will be Tata Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG. By launching these two vehicles with CNG compatible engines, will compete in the CNG segment too.

The bookings of these two models are already started at Tata Motors dealerships.
Currently, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai are the two companies that compete in this segment, but after this launch, tata will give competition to these two companies.

Details
- These two models are not different from their non-CNG variants but the only difference will be the CNG badge.
- The equipment available cannot state until CNG variants are revealed. Â
- In its top trim, the Tigor features LED DRLs, 15-inch alloys, a digital instrument cluster, and a 7-inch infotainment system with Harman audio.
- It has automatic climate control, and it boasts a 4-Star NCAP safety rating.
- While the Tiago and Tigor Petrol variants are offered with AMT aside from a manual transmission.
- The CNG variants of these two models are expected to have five-speed manual transmission only.
Both the models are powered by a 1.2Lt petrol engine that makes 86bhp and 113 nm of torque. These are the figures for a petrol model. but for CNG models, these figures will be lower in comparison to the petrol variant.
With this update in tata’s portfolio, tigor will become the only vehicle in India, covering three power sources in a car (Petrol, electric, and now CNG). Â

In a few past years, the graph of CNG vehicles in Indian cities is just going upwards. 2019 there were 1,300 filling stations, and that has been bumped up to 3,500 filling stations in 293 cities presently, according to SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers).
This number is set to reach 6,000 stations by 2025. Tata Tiago will compete with Hyundai Santro and Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, While Tigor will go Head-to-Head with Hyundai Aura.Â
CNG has been considered as an alternative fuel option in recent times. Especially with the move to electricity and rising fuel prices. At that time CNG considers more promising as a sustainable fuel option.
Tata has been at the forefront of alternative fuel use ever since they launched their Nexon EV. They appeared to be heading in the right direction with their new CNG-compatible cars. Â
