In a post budget webinar titled “Unleashing the potential -Ease of living using technology”,the PM Modi said technology will help India to be developed by 2047.He outlined the massive and modern digital infrastructure being created to ensure that benefits of digital revolution reach everyone of the country.
Technology has been used by the govt to bring about qualitative changes in the lives of the people and the govt is heavily investing in this direction,he added.
Modi said, technology is being used to reduce the cost of compliance of small businesses and the industry has been asked to identify the un necessary compliances that can be pruned .”We have finished 4000 compliances”,said PM Modi.
He said , technology has been used to convert the tax system into faceless to address the problems of the people . Technology like 5G and Artificial intelligence are leading now, and poised to transform areas like Medicine education, agriculture and many other sectors.He added technology formed the basis of “One nation One Ration” and this was done to help people get ration card transparently,migrant workers have benefitted the most from it ,was added by him.
Jan dhan Yojana ,Adhaar and mobile called the trinity has helped the govt to directly transfer money into bank accounts of the poor People .
“Now but your grievances and the redressal there is no person ,just technology”,he said .
He exhorted stakeholders to identify the 10 problem areas facing the the common man which can be solved using AI.He said 21st century is technology driven and one can’t restrict it to just digital and internet technology.
Commenting on the budget 2024 ,he assured technology has been stressed on by each budget of the govt and this year ,the govt has increased the capital expanditure to bring about a ease of living in the life of the people.
He said the priority is given to technology and human touch and technology is giving everyone an equal opportunity to excel .
He asserted that the govt interventions have been reduced and citizens do not consider the govt to be an obstacle.He asked various departments to collectively think about using technology for solving problems and reaching global standards.
Further he emphasized on the needs to keep updating the training process under Mission KaramYogi, and highlighted that with modifications based on the feedback from the citizens , significant improvement can be witnessed.
He suggested creating a system where feedback can be easily submitted to improve the training .
He gave the example of Digilocker where companies and organisations store documents and share them with govt agencies and he called for their extension.
“The Lack of trust between the govt and the people is the result of a mindset of slavery ,he remarked and pointed out that the govt has now won back the trust of the citizens by decrimnalising offences and has became a loan guarantor for MSMES”,said the PM.
Achievements of the BJP run govt:
He also highlighted the achievements of the govt including GEM(Govt E marketplace ) which has given an opportunity to small shopkeepers from far flung areas to sell their product directly to the govt.E NAM(National agriculture market) which has has made farmers able to directly connect with buyers and sell the product at its best price at one place.
He further discussed about Arogya setu ,Covin App and technology that were used during the COVID vaccination and which helped the govt to reach to a maximum number of people.
