Royal Challengers Bangalore will wear the green shirt in their IPL 2022 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday as part of their ‘Go Green’ initiative. The squad will wear the green jersey instead of the usual one, as it does every year, to promote awareness about environmental conservation.
Go Green imitative has taken by RCB
Meanwhile, on the day of the game, the franchise’s official Twitter account published a video of players underlining the significance of a greener environment.
“Since 2011, our RCB culture has supported the Go Green environmental campaign.”
In the video, Virat Kohli adds, “You’ve seen RCB wear the green jersey in a day game at the Chinnaswamy Stadium over the years to promote awareness about a greener and more sustainable planet earth.”
Meanwhile, Bangalore’s special jersey hasn’t produced fantastic results, and the figures tell the entire storey. So far, the team has only won two of their ten games in green, with one match being rained out. As a result, the Faf du Plessis-led team would hope to improve their record against SRH by producing a clinical performance.
Maxwell statement
All-rounder Glenn Maxwell also challenged everyone to help make the planet more sustainable for future generations.
“Let us continue to work toward a greener future by implementing environmentally friendly policies that will enable future generations to live in a far better and safer planet,” he said. Maxwell added
