The Newest Meme Fest: Netizens Believe Akshay Kumar to Play Neeraj Chopra’s Biopic

In a glorious win at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, 23-year-old Neeraj Chopra becomes the first track and field athlete to win gold for India.

India’s 100-year-old wait for a gold medal finally came to an end on Saturday, 7th August 2021, at the Tokyo Olympics.

People from all over the world took to social media and poured in gratitude felt wishes for the star athlete.

India owes this moment of joy to the impeccable performance displayed by Javelin throw star Neeraj Chopra.

An athlete from Haryana, Neeraj Chopra is a subedar with 4 Rajputana Rifles in the Indian Army.

His iconic win has rendered him the second Indian after Abhinav Bindra to win an individual gold medal.

He has also secured the title of the first-ever athlete in Independent India to win an award in a track and field event at the quadrangular event.

Neerja Chopra secured the second gold medal for the country in the entire history of the Olympic games with his legendary 87.58m throw.

This win took the total tally of awards won by India to seven, which is the highest number of medals our country has triumphed across the years.

Close in line stood J.Vadlejch from the Czech Republic with a throw of 86.67m.

In a heart-warming gesture, the proud son of India dedicated his win to Milkha Singh.

In June, the iconic sprinter died of COVID-19, but this gesture left his son and ace golfer Jeev Milkha Singh overwhelmed with gratitude.

Along with an immense number of congratulatory messages across multiple social handles, several memes are surfacing the realm.

Netizens are creating a unique meme saying that Akshay Kumar should star in the biopic of Neeraj Chopra in the coming days.

The chain of memes started when a user took to Twitter and shared a picture of Akshay Kumar posing with a stick in his hand.

In a 2018 interview with The Quint, after his win at the Asian Games, Neeraj Chopra named the actors he wishes would play him in his biopic.

Neeraj Chopra mentioned two names when asked which actor would best portray the Olympic medalist in a biopic.

He said he liked both Randeep Hooda from Haryana and Akshay Kumar from Bollywood.

Social media users are now having a ball suggesting that Kumar has already started preparing a biopic of the nation’s star.

The chain of memes features a photo of Akshay Kumar from his film, Saugandh, holding a stick.

Even more interesting, these images are accompanied by captions such as, “Leaked picture of Akshay Kumar from the sets of #NeerajChopra’s biopic.”
