There has been a sudden spike in covid-19 cases, Maharashtra reported 2,701 cases on Wednesday out of which 1,765 were just from its capital Mumbai which is a 42% rise in a single day, the highest level in over four months. Maharashtra government on Saturday made the use of face masks mandatory, it has been advised by scientists and doctors to wear masks.
There are currently 9,806 active covid-19 cases in the state and no deaths have been recorded since Tuesday. Last week health authorities told officials to urgently increase testing.Â
Maharashtra was the first state to remove the mandate over masks but currently, it has been advised by scientists and doctors to wear masks and follow all required covid-19 preventive measures.
Due to Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra has risen to 2,701,the Maharashtra government on Saturday made the use of face masks mandatory in closed public spaces such as trains, buses, cinemas, auditoriums, offices, hospitals, colleges, and schools.
The officials have said that we can see the numbers rise daily as the monsoons are around the corner and the medical sector is also checking for influenza and several respiration-related issues.Â
