Women’s empowerment leads to the advancement
“Mission Shakti” is a self-help initiative that was introduced in the state on March 8, 2001, the eve of International Women’s Day, with the goal of empowering them by encouraging them to participate in various socioeconomic activities through the formation of Women Self Help Groups (WSHGs). Mission Shakti’s goal is crystal clear: giving them access to loans and markets, it would enable them to participate in productive activities. The government’s flagship program is Mission Shakti, which aims to empower through WSHGs.
By membership in a self-help group and federation, the women of Odisha will receive services and financial support through the Odisha Mission Shakti 2024, which was established by the state government. In order to foster sustainable livelihoods, this program will provide self-help groups with access to institutional loans. Using the plan also enables them to increase their financial security and self-assurance.
Unleashing the entrepreneur’s potential
The women will connect with the banking institution via Odisha Project Shakti 2024. They will be able to receive institutional credit through the self-help group, enabling them to seek self-employment. The program also provides a variety of financial aid in the form of revolving grants, Mission Shakti loans, and seed money. Through this initiative, which integrates activities such as regular meetings, credit and thrift education, internal landing, etc. with the bank credit system, financial institutions are connected.
