The Remaining IPL 2021 matches will be held in UAE in September.

Date:

The remainder of the Indian Premier League  (IPL 2021) season games will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in September. The decision was taken at a virtual Special General Meeting (SGM) where members decide to resume IPL in September-October this year.

The BCCI SGM further authorized the Office Bearers to seek an extension of time from the ICC to take a correct call on the hosting of ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

At the meeting, it was also agreed that BCCI would continue discussions with the government on tax relief for the T20 World Cup, which will be staged later in October this year.

BCCI has been calculated to have a liability of INR 900 crores if it does not obtain the exemption for hosting World Cup in India.

“The BCCI SGM further authorized the Office Bearers to seek an extension of time from the ICC to take an appropriate call on hosting of ICC T20 World Cup 2021,” the release from the BCCI said.

The IPL was postponed indefinitely by BCCI on May 4 after many IPL players and staff became positive for COVID-19 after the second wave rises in India.
