The glory of India is rising high as its players are dedicated to show their hard work in their games. Seeing the players at commonwealth this time it is clear that they are filled with a killer attitude, the players are not satisfied with anything less than a gold. This time India won 22 gold medals, 16 silver medals, 23 bronze medals.Â
As for saying 61 players have won the medal but the whole country is bulging out with pride. It is a new change in Indian players which can be seen through the confidence in their performances and the whole credit of this goes to the players who are not afraid of hard work or any kind of injury and are still towards their goals.
India is a lucky country to have players like them who convert hard work and sacrifices into medals. Most of the players are from lower middle class families, they came from an atmosphere where they have to pass a test on a daily basis and put forward their hard work and give mesmerizing performances for the country and bring home the gold.
Today the whole of India can learn from these hard working players. The story of their lives can inspire every Indian. Everyone sees the medal but not the sacrifices and hard work behind it. Let’s know the story behind their medals and also how they won medals even at those games at which we had no hopes. What changes came to India’s attitude and how some players changed their strategy for better results.
Patience, the attitude of never giving up and facing all the injuries, the Indian winning is filled with many more such things which can fill us with a positive attitude. We have heard the national anthem many times but when a player wins a medal and stands at the podium and then the national anthem plays a different tune, it causes goosebumps. Today the whole country is listening and singing this anthem as if the whole nation is saying well played to the players.
Every medal at the commonwealth this time has a story behind it and every story is inspirational. Champions are not built drinking costly water but they are called a champion with their performances and hard work. In this commonwealth games India has not just won 61 medals but also got the stories to inspire.
First inspirational story is of a lawn bowls team who won the gold medal inspires that when life gives you a second chance, never waste it. The captain of lawn bowls Roopa Rani was a kabaddi player at a time but started from the beginning at lawn bowls and came to know that she can play this game more better. The attitude to do something for the country, many players in the team like Roopa switched their games and did a great job in lawn bowls. Holding the flag high and tears in eyes they are an inspiration to thousands.
Second inspiring story: if you are talented and dedicated towards your goals then no difficulty can stop you. India won a total of 10 medals in weightlifting with 3 gold. Most of the players in weight lifting are from lower middle class families. One of them is Harjinder Kaur who won a bronze medal in weightlifting. Harjinder’s family lives in a one room house and her father is a laborer. Harjinder herself works on the machine for animal food and therefore she was so stable and perfect with her game.
Similarly the story of Achinta Shiuli inspires. Just 20 years old Achinta lifted a weight of 313kgs and won a gold. His father used to drive a rickshaw. When he was 10 his father died and the family also worked as a labor to run the family. Silver medal winner and Weight lifter Guru Raja Pujari’s father was a truck driver. And silver medalist Sanket Sargar’s father runs a tea stall.Â
Third inspiring story: To win over pain. The tolerance of pain makes a weightlifter of more worth. Two players have proved it. Jeremy Lalrinnunga won the gold medal and is just 19 years old. The judo player Sushila Devi also overcame his pain and won a medal.
Fourth inspiring story: To beat the challenge of age. Many Indian players have proved that the hunger of winning and hard work for it can beat the age barrier.
Fifth source is : Patience. The players inspired not to lose hope and have patience till the end as the hope for winning is still under line till the end. The high jumper Tejasvini Dehrya is an inspiration for those who have made national records in athletics.
India had won medals in Badminton, Hockey, table tennis etc but this time India had won a medal in a game where India never had a chance of. In the 3000m steeple race Avinash Sawale won a silver medal. It is a medal which no one had thought of.
The whole country is proud of our players. And the whole nation believes it is just the beginning of a new, changing, inspiring India.
