Technology has been so advanced in this Generation, that despite sending humans to Earth’s orbit and the moon, the idea of humans surviving in outer space must seem like science fiction. These inventions are employed daily to save lives, improve environmental sustainability, and keep humans healthy.
Advanced Technology that uses in Space Exploration:
1. International Space Station (ISS)-
It is the largest and most Expensive Tech which is Space ever built costing Approximately $160 Billion.
- This high-tech technology allows its passengers to travel at five miles per second, meaning it would only take 90 minutes to orbit the Earth.
- It also allows up to six spaceships to be connected to the station at once.
2. Spacesuit Technology-
- A Spacesuit weighs around 300 lbs and costs around $22 Million to create.
- Spacesuits allow us to exist in extreme temperatures and conditions that humans would normally not be able to survive in for more than a couple of seconds.
- Additionally, they provide us with oxygen to breathe while in space and contain water to drink during spacewalks.
3. The Hubble Space Telescope –
Ever Since its launch in 1990, this telescope has been one of the most successful advances in space exploration.
- Away from Earth, this technology avoids atmospheric distortion, allowing it to bring thousands of jaw-dropping images back to Earth.
- The first country on Earth to put any technology into space was the Soviet Union, formally known as the “Union of Soviet Socialist Republics” (USSR).
- The USSR sent the Sputnik 1 satellite on October 4, 1957.
- It weighed about 83 kg (183 lb) and is believed to have orbited Earth at an altitude of about 250 km.
“Human exploration” and “development” of space are aimed at opening the space frontier by exploring, using, and enabling the development of space and expanding the human experience into the far reaches of space.
This includes increasing human knowledge of nature’s processes using the space environment, exploring and settling the solar system, achieving routine space travel, and enriching life on Earth through people living and working in space.
NASA’s Mars robotic explorations and the International Space Station provide extensive experience, research and technology (R&T), and infrastructure for other envisioned programs in support of human exploration and the development of space.
