In a very controversial statement, TMC leader Yashwant Sinha on Monday stated that the simple solution to all of India’s problems is to declare it a ‘Hindu Rashtra’ by amending the constitution and putting a ban on all other religions in the country.
“Only the timid and the weak leave things to destiny but the strong and the self-confident never bank on destiny or luck.” – Hindu rashtra
Sarcastic remarks against the BJP administration
The former finance minister and Vice President of the Trinamool Congress lashed out at the BJP administration and made a sarcastic tweet on the current scenario of the country. “Delete non-Indian Hindu history, take revenge for the past wrongdoings of Buddhists, Jains, Muslims, and Christians against Hindus”, Sinha tweeted. These remarks came in as the Indian rupee hit an all-time low and the opposition bashed the center for its poor economic management.
Acquisitions of destroying communal harmony
Since its rise to power in 2014, BJP and RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) have been continuously pestered by the opposition for trying to sabotage the communal harmony of India. Over the years many BJP leaders have sung along to the tunes of the declaration of India as a Hindu nation.
One of the main agendas of the party is the idea of ‘Hindutva’ which translates to the complete supremacy of the Hindu religion throughout the country.
In an opinion piece published by the Indian Express, Sinha had alleged that the country is sinking deeper into the “quicksand of communal hate and violence”. Pointing out the grim condition of the present economic situation, he referred it to as a scenario that is “ripe for violence”.
Increasing inflation and economic instability
TMC had also targeted the BJP government for the callous rise in the prices of LPG cylinders with strong statements from Mamta Banerjee accusing the party of tormenting people with the
continuous rise in the prices of fuel and commodities. TMC alleged the government of being bankrupt and accused them of taking 17lakh crore in the form of fuel price hikes from the public in the last 2 years.
Acquisitions have been made against the BJP government for undermining the communal harmony of the country. Allegations have been made against the BJP for trying to change the history of the country by removing several chapters from CBSE history books.
