According to a source, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in charge of a COVID review meeting on Wednesday because the country has witnessed a rise in cases over the last two weeks.
India’s Prime Minister and senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office are among those who are expected to attend the virtual meeting, according to reports from several news outlets. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya are also said to be in attendance.
Reports say Rajesh Bhushan, the head of the Indian government‘s health department, will give a presentation about COVID, the number of people who have been vaccinated, and the trend of cases in certain states.
Following an increase in the number of COVID cases, the use of masks has once again been made mandatory in certain sectors.
According to statistics from the Delhi Health Department, the city has seen an increase in the number of reported cases since reintroducing the mask rule. The positive rate increased almost threefold between April 11 and April 18, according to the data.
