Scooters have been a blessing for traffic-packed city roads and streets as commuting has become more accessible and faster in city life. TVS Motor Company launched the TVS Jupiter 125, a family scooter, on 7th October 2021.
TVS Motor Company launched TVS Ntorq, a sports scooter and was loved widely by the consumers. TVS makes its first-ever approach to make a commuter scooter, this time with TVS Jupiter 125.
The CEO, Mr K.N.Radhakrishnan, has been a transformer for the local Chennai-based company to be the third-largest manufacturer of scooters. He said, “At TVS Motors, we focus on four parameters: scooterization, premiumization, investing in brands, and product innovations”.
Features
Comfort and Convenience
It is said to have the most extended seat with 65mm of a well-padded comfortable seat. It has the lowest seat height of 765mm. If you are on the heavy side, the seat accommodates very well with two such people and is still comfortable.
The handle is also placed on the higher end; it would be easy for someone on the taller side. It has a malfunction indicator lamp that helps you alert in case of any problem, which guarantees the user’s safety.
Space and Fuel
There is enough space on the floorboard, so much so that it can fit a gas cylinder. It has an apron of 2 litres for holding your mobile phone or other essentials. There is no lock for the apron; that means you cannot leave anything behind.
However, the impressive side is, it has a USB charger. Furthermore, it has 33-liter under-seat storage, enough to fit two helmets. It has under seat light as a stand feature.Â
The fuel filler is placed at the front apron on the left side, making your fuel filling process much hassle-free. The fuel tank has a capacity of 5 litres. The fuel tank is made of metal and placed beneath the plough board.
It makes the scooter low in the centre of gravity and helps with balance and handling. The kerb weight is 108kgs which makes it perfect for U-turns and makes it quick to turn.
Stability & Speed
It is said to be the most efficient scooter in the 125cc segment. The ride quality is excellent and swift on well-maintained roads as well as bumpy roads. The front desk brakes are of 220mm disc/130mm drum, which provides excellent stability and synchronized brakes as a standard.Â
The engine is provided with a brand new 124.8cc and an air-cooled motor. As designed for family-type usability, it is tuned for middle to low performance. It comes with an automatic start-stop system.
Regarding the mileage, it is expected to run 60kms per litre. It has ECU-controlled ignition.
The Looks
The look is brilliant, with LED lights placed at the front as well as the back. It comes with diamond-cut alloy wheels, which look pretty sturdy and sporty. The finishing levels are top-notch, and the quality of the switchgear is also excellent.
As the body is all metal, the durability is reasonably assured. As for the instrument cluster, we have an analogue speedometer, an LCD that shows us the fuel gauge, two trip meters, clock, and even fuel efficiency lead-outs for the instrument cluster. The look is quite traditional and precisely what buyers in this segment are looking for.
