According to the Head of Syria Observatory for Human Rights……….
According to the head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Abdel Rahman, eight pro-Iranian fighters were killed in U.S. strikes. He said that the strikes targeted weapons depots in Deir Ezzor city which led to the killing of six fighters and the strike targeted the desert of Mayadine and near Albu Kamal led to the killing of the other two fighters.
Iran’s state news outlet denied the killing of any Iranian in the airstrikes. As per them, a rural development center and a grain center were hit while denying targets were Iran-affiliated groups posts. The head of Central Command, Army General Erik Kurilla, who oversees U.S. troops in the Middle East, said the U.S. troops have come under attack nearly 78 times since 2021 by Iranian affiliated groups.
In recent years, deployment in Iraq has also faced drone and rocket attacks as Iran holds sway in Iraq. Kurilla warned about Iran’s drone fleet while testifying to the House Armed Services Committee earlier on Thursday. He said that Tehran now holds the largest and most capable UAV fleet force in the region. In January, a U.S. base was targeted by three drones in Syria’s Al-Tanf region. U.S. officials believe that the Iran-affiliated militias are behind the drone and rocket attacks. Surprisingly, the attack took place just weeks after Mark Miley, a top U.S. general, visited northeast Syria.
