Coach of U17 Women’s Football names 33 players for FIFA World Cup
U17 Women’s Football: 26th April, Tuesday, Indian Women’s Football U17 coach Thomas Dennerby has announced the names of 33 players who will be playing at the FIFA World Cup which will be held in the country later this year.
This is the list of the players-
Goal Keeper: Monalisa Devi, Anjali Munda, Hempriya Seram, Keisham Melody Chanu.
Mid Fielders: Payal, Shailja, Kalpana, Moirangthem Ambika Devi, Loktongbam Shelia Devi, R Madhumathi, Babina Devi, Gladys Zonunsangi, Nitu Linda, Shubhangi Singh
Defenders: Salima Kumari, Sudha Ankita Tirkey, Astam Oraon, Purnima Kumari, Julia Devi Yanglem, Bhumika Bharat Mane, Kajal, Varshika, Kajol Dsouza, Ngashepam Pinku Devi, Hemam Silky Devi
Forwards: Neha, Anita Kumari, Lavanya, Lynda Kom Serto, Reshma, Dharshini, Laishram Rejiya Devi, Vinothini.
The players that have assembled here are the ones who won the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) match this year.

The tournament got canceled in 2020, due to the pandemic, this year the All-India Football Federation (AIFF) and Local Organizing Committee (LOC) have confirmed the host cities. The tournament will be held at Bhubaneshwar’s Kalinga Stadium, Goa’s Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, and Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium.
Talking about the announcement FIFA Chief Women’s Football Officer Sarai Bareman said “Following the recent FIFA visit to India, this is an important step forward and marks the start of the final countdown towards the tournament. We would like to thank the AIFF, the LOC, and all the stakeholders for their support throughout the last two years as we have dealt with the evolving nature of the pandemic.”
The 2022 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup will be the 7th edition of the tournament. The sport will be played by 16 teams which include China, Brazil, Chile, the US, Korea, Spain, and others. The match will start on 11th October 2022 and end on 30th October 2022.
