The local mayor informed many citizens were killed in the attack on the Mariupol Drama Theatre in Ukraine.
Mariupol city council posted a Telegram message on Thursday that Russian forces destroyed a movie theatre in Ukraine ‘s Mariupol, where over a thousand civilians had sought refuge. In a later briefing, a Russian Ministry of Defense official denied that Russia had bombarded the maternity hospital, calling it a “provocation.”
According to the interview given of Mariupol deputy mayor to CNN on Tuesday, the city has been turned into a battleground. With the statement that Russia has been attacking the city with missiles, with 22 aircraft “hitting our city, and at least 100 bombs” on Monday.
Residents who have left the city have explained the situation as “unbearable” and “hell on earth.” On Tuesday, horrific drone footage and satellite images of rising waves of heavy smoke and wrecked buildings highlighted the Russian bombardment’s utter devastation.
As per Ukraine officials’ statement, up to 2,500 civilians have died in Mariupol, and hundreds of thousands of people are still besieged in the city, with officials warning that those who remain are without basic needs.
