The relationship between Russia and Ukraine was sore throughout the New year; amidst this, certain tension got developed between the two nations. On Thursday, February 24, 2022, the Russian government and its president Vladimir Putin ordered a complete invasion of the country of Ukraine. They said that it should be liberated from the traitors standing there. He also warned in a statement that “whoever tries to come in between Russia and Ukraine, would be treated as the enemy of Russia.”
However, the Ukrainian government recently created its new convoy headed by Igor Polikha. The head of the convoy, after reviewing the situation, sought immediate help from the various nation; indeed, not many were ready. So, he came up with the idea of asking the voice of India, PM Narendra Modi, who has good ties with the Russian president and with the country. In a public interaction with the media as well as with the people of Ukraine, he said, “India is a very influential global player; thus, we are asking for a strong voice of India.” He further added to the scenario that “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one of the most powerful and respected world leaders. Hence, you (India) have a privileged, strategic relationship with Russia. If Modi Ji speaks to Putin, we are hopeful he will respond.”
He also added, “India should be much more actively engaged, given the privileged relation India has with Russia. Not just for our safety, but of your own citizen’s safety too, we need the intervention of India.” Mr. Polikha said that there are more than 15000 Indian people currently residing in Ukraine; the Government of India is yet, as a matter of fact, trying to rescue them with the India Air Force. He said that the safety of the Indian people is their responsibility.
The envoy also referred to too much Hindu scripture significantly, the Mahabharata wherein, he added that even before the war, there were active effects to solve the conflicts. “India was among the top architects of the world-famous five principles, Panchsheel; that is why at this moment we are asking, pleading the support of India.”
In reply, the Indian operation has already applied for de-escalation of the hostilities and said, “We express our deep concern over the developments, which if not handled carefully, may well undermine the peace and security of the region.” India’s permanent representatives captured and said the notion, TS Tirumurti noted to the United Nations.
