Positioning by China and Russia who have enhanced their security interest in East Asia, Nobuo Kishi, Japanese Defence Minister has mentioned strictly in comments adding to it that neighbours try to overpower international benchmark.
During Asia’s premier security meeting in Singapore at the Shangri-La-Dialogue Kishi stated, “ that today Japan is enclosed by actors who are possessing or are developing nuclear weapons and are also ignoring command ”.
Developed countries China and Russia, carried out a joint aerial patrol on the river which is quite close to Japan and Taiwan in the month of May, this was their first since Moscow’s annexation of Ukraine.
Kishi further added that China and Russia’s both being strong military power and performing this joint military operation will definitely increase concern among other countries of the world.
Even Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida cleared the same point in the Shangri-La-Dialogue speech stating that Japan would call for increased security spending and will also possibly look for advanced strike weapons. There he further added by stating “ Ukraine may be East Asia Tomorrow”.
Kishi on Saturday called China a “nation of concern”. He added that the safety and stability of the Taiwan Strait are equally important for the safety and security of Japan and other wider world.
He mentions that Germany carrying out its security policy by uplifting its defence budget to two per cent of its gross domestic product.
Also, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has also horrified Tokyo, because it could accept military force as a weapon to international controversies and would also encourage China to try and take control of Taiwan which is quite close to Japan and maritime trade routes that cater for its economy.
In a policy paper that was being published on Tuesday, the administration of Kishida said it wanted defence spending to increase drastically within the next five years.
