Met Gala is always the most awaited event throughout the globe as celebrities and stars show up in exaggerated. Fashionable and statement making outfits. Every year, this event follows a theme and this year the theme was “Karl Lagerfeld: A line of beauty.” Karl Lagerfeld was a German fashion designer who collaborated with brands like Fendi and Chanel. Met announced that this year would be in the honor of Karl.
Many stars showed up with Glamourous outfits and few of them made a debut to Met Gala such as Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsay, Quinta Brunson, Ice Spice, Labrinth and many more.
Starting with Rihanna, who showed up in a white dress, upper body covered with fabric made giant white roses, that went over up to her head, she paired this look with black sunglasses and red lipstick, giving the look a stylish tone.

Next up, we got Cardi B who wore a big bag like black dress, with a white shirt and a black tie on the upper portion of the dress, pairing it with black gloves and a black hairband. The exciting part about the dress is, the bottom portion is filled with giant black roses. This outfit fit the theme, as Karl Lagerfeld himself, dressed in black suit with white shirt and black tie most of the time. Cardi B incorporated the Karl style with adding her own creative touch to it.

Next, we have Dua Lipa who wore a gown which paid homage to the last dress Claudia Schiffer wore in 1992. It is a cream-coloured gown laced with a thin black border along the neckline and the waistline. She paired the outfit with a necklace that had a waterdrop shaped locket. This dress was a perfect example of how fashion can combine nostalgia and modernity to create a truly unique and memorable look.

Coming up, we have the fashion icon Naomi Campbell, who also set a nostalgic tone by wearing a Chanel couture from Karl’s 2010 collection. It is a dress in a saree style which is in baby pink colour with subtle undertones of rose gold. We have all known Naomi Campbell’s fascination with sarees and she never fails to mesmerize the public with her unique skill of fusion.

Many other stars such as Margot Robbie, BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Nicole Kidman, and many others paid homage to several iconic outfits designed by Karl.
Later, we have celebrities who wore cat themed dresses to represent Karl’s Choupette. Choupette is Karl’s pet, a Birman cat. Doja cat showed up in a beautiful shiny silver dress with cat ears. Her face was made to look like a cat using prosthetic makeup.
Lil Nas x showed up in a metal thong and body covered with silver paint, with a facemask filled with silver coated pearls. He added his own twist to the Choupette theme. We also have Jared Leto who showed up in a complete cat furr suit.

Overall, many stars this year wore outfits that are in accordance with the theme but also with their own essence added to the outfits. Met Gala always brings out the creative side of fashion and it did not fail to do the same this year.
