Political Parties are eager to know the exit polls, which would come out soon after the completion of all the seven phases in the state of Uttar Pradesh
The sixth phase of the Uttar Pradesh assembly election is about to get over, wherein the voters have voted the most with a percentage statistic of 67.8% out of all the phases. This recount the most active 2017 Assembly Elections or 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.
The inclination of the vote is also by means is the same in phase six, accounting for most of the votes to the Bharatiya Janata Party, keeping behind the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party.
While BJP dominates the battle arena in phase six, some constituencies are being designated to the Samajwadi Party and the BSP. In the bytes that the media persona took at ground level, people in phase six are more inclined towards the Bharatiya Janata Party.
In an interview, one of the locals in Gorakhpur Urban said, “our belief in BJP is stronger than before, with Yogi Ji (Yogi Adityanath) returning in power would restore peace and prosperity in the state of Uttar Pradesh.”
Yogi Adityanath’s popularity advances UP Elections
The 2017 Assembly elections saw growth for Yogi Adityanath, eventually gaining the popularity he needed to win the elections of that time. With time, the fame he got in the state and at the national level was a talk of commendableness. Even if we see the ratio of the 2019 Lok Sabha
elections, then Yogi Adityanath helped the Bharatiya Janata Party and Narendra Modi to campaign in the state. He gave them the appropriate target audience in terms of campaigning.
Though the Yogi governance is being criticized a lot after the Hathras Rape crime, still people believed in him and his contribution to the state. Therefore, in the 2022 Assembly elections, the popularity of Yogi Adityanath would be used again to gain the seats and the trust of the people.
His efforts to promote tourism via the Ram Mandir built in Ayodhya is a visionary idea as people always had the stereotype of Uttar Pradesh of being high in crime rate and low in literacy level.
BJP didn’t have many seats in Phase 1&2
Bhartiya Janata Party is one of the strongest contenders in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections; however, in the first two phases, the party did not perform well as it was expected to do so. While opposition, Samajwadi Party and BSP had enough seats to garner and stand, BJP was not in a stable position to upstand its votes and constituency.
According to the reports and analysis by our experts, the Sainis and the Gujjars of the state have drastically shape-shifted from BJP to the Samajwadi Party-led alliance on a seat-to-seat basis.
This happened in almost every constituency in phases I & 2, while the Brahmins still gave their vote to the Bharatiya Janata Party, which was not sufficient to procrastinate at the starting of the assembly elections.
An estimation of 30 seats per constituency is being predicted for the BJP in the first two phases; this is not very good news for the supporters of BJP compared to the 2017 assembly elections, the performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party is being decreased.
Modi’s resentment and popularity against Anti-BJP
The Covid has affected many sectors, including private and government jobs. The adverse effect of Covid hit even the state of Uttar Pradesh; during this period, many people lost their jobs.
Though the governance of Yogi Adityanath was up to mark, the people of UP still blamed Modi Government for not being able to provide any kind of employment during the era of Coronavirus. Irrespective of the fall and rise of BJP, the popularity of PM Narendra Modi is onto another level.
In-ground level interview with the people residing in Lucknow, they said that “people here are the full supporters of BJP and Modi Ji because his aura towards the state of Uttar Pradesh is very efficient, with the BJP government, the state will achieve its heights of making UP as one of the best states across India.”
