“you’re each day is full of struggles. Keeping this in mind, Our Congress party has prepared a manifesto specially for women,” she said in a tweet in Hindi.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the Congress General Secretary, said that her party has prepared a different election manifesto for females for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly polls and guaranteed them unrestrained LPG cylinders and travel in government buses voted to power.
“On the emergence of the Congress party’s government, 3 LPG cylinders will be given for free to women annually and additionally women will be able to travel for free in state government buses,” she said.
Priyanka Gandhi has also tagged a picture and the tweet listing the Congress’ wishes to the women if their party comes to power in BJP ruled Utter Pradesh.
The assurances also included:
- A payment of Rs 10,000 per month to ASHA and Anganwadi workers.
- The appointment of women to 40 per cent posts according to the provisions of reservation.
- Â Rs 1,000 of pension to old widows.
- Opening 75 skill schools across the state that.
Congress is facing a rising task of consolidating its support base in Uttar Pradesh, and Priyanka Gandhi is going all out to attract women in her election campaigns.
Last month, the Congress general secretary said all class 12 pass girls would be given a smartphone while all graduate girls would get an electric scooter if her party formed a government in the state.
UP Poll: Congress Released Manifesto Way Before Ruling Party BJP
Priyanka Gandhi, who is the in-charge of her party in Uttar Pradesh, had announced last month that her party would give forty per cent tickets to women in the polls slated for early next year, saying the decision is aimed at making women, who constitute roughly half the vote bank, a “full-fledged partner in power”.
The assembly elections for Uttar Pradesh will be held early next year. The ruling BJP party and the opposition Samajwadi Party are yet to announce their manifesto.
Congress party released its poll manifesto last month. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi released the manifesto, beginning the Congress party’s ‘Pratigya Yatra’ from UP’s Barabanki. With the Pratigya Yatra, the party points to take forward its poll promises to each voter.
“Some key features of our part’s manifesto are free mobile and e-Scooty farm loan waiver, phones for schoolgirls, electricity bill half for all and full waiver of pending electricity bills of Covid period, Rs 25,000 per year to poor families,” said Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
To attract the youth voters and farmers, the Congress party promised more than 20 lakh jobs and increased MSPs. “We will give 20 lakh government jobs, MSP of Rs 400 for sugarcane per quintal and Rs 2500 for wheat and rice per quintal and ” she stated.
It is recalled that Priyanka Gandhi had recently announced to reserve 40 per cent of total party tickets for women candidates only.
