Uttar Pradesh Class 10 Board Results were announced at 2 pm on June 18, at results.nic.in.
After the release of the Maharashtra and West Bengal board results, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) jumped on the bandwagon. On Friday, June 17, Uttar Pradesh Board Secretary, Dibyakant Shukla, announced that the results would be available on June 18 from 2 pm onwards. Intermediate (Inter Examinations) results would be available from 4 PM at the Prayagraj Headquarters of the UP Board.
The Class 10 Board Examinations were conducted from March 24 to April 13, 2022.
Insights into the Uttar Pradesh Board Results
51,92,689 students had registered for the Uttar Pradesh Class 10 Boards of High School and Intermediate. However, only 91.97% (4775749) of students had appeared for all the examinations. 416940 students did not appear for the tests and remained absent.
This year, 88.18% of students successfully passed the board examinations. In a successful feat, Gautam Buddha Nagar has emerged as the best-performing district. It is followed by Etawah district and Amethi.
Girls surpassed boys by securing an overall pass percentage of 91.69. The pass percentage for boys lingered at 85.25%. Previously, in 2021, the pass percentage stood at 97.88%. Exams had been canceled due to the surge of the COVID-19 pandemic, and alternate patterns were discussed. However, compared to the pre-pandemic 2020 pass percentage of 83%, the results look far more promising, showing a better curve.
Prince Patel has emerged as the topper of the UP Class 10 boards with an impressive 97.67%. Hailing from Anubhav Inter College, Murlipur, Kanpur, Prince scored 586 marks out of 600. Treading behind, Sanskrit Thakur of Moradabad and Arra Kanpur came 2nd with 97.5%. The 5th rank is shared by 4 people with 582 marks scoring a 97%.
27 students feature in the top 10 list, with 21 girls and 8 boys. 113 candidates had appeared for the 10th Boards from Jail. 92.23% of them have passed, with the districts of Firozabad, Bareilly, Varanasi, Lucknow, and Saharanpur securing a 100% pass.
85.33% of students passed the UPMSP Inter-Examinations compared to 2021’s 97.88%. The girls outshone the boys as well. The pass percentage of female students was 90.01%, and 81.21% of males passed. Divyanshi from Fatehpur got 95.4% and topped the examinations, while Ashika Yadav came second with 95%.
Controversies with the Boards and Further News
The exams were held at over 8000 centers across the state of Uttar Pradesh. Unfortunately, the class 12 English language paper had been leaked, and the examinations were canceled in over 24 districts. Some districts where the results have been canceled are Agra, Mathura, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Aligarh, and Ghaziabad. The council announced that examiners were required to award full marks for the out-of-syllabus questions asked in the Hindi Paper.
