Ross Taylor will no longer play for the Black Caps, announces retirement from international cricket.
Veteran New Zealand cricketer Ross Taylor his last international game against Netherlands at home on Monday. New Zealand won against Netherlands after Taylor took the last catch and whitewashed the ODI series by 3-0.
A kind of last match everyone wishes for – playing on the home ground, winning the match by taking the last and final catch and clean sweeping the opponents, what better retirement can one ask for?
The former New Zealand skipper was presented a memento during the post-match presentation with his international statistics. Taylor along with his family witnessed world celebrating his retirement for his impressive career that gave the world of cricket tons of memories.
Many prominent and legendary cricketers like Brendon McCullum, Kane Williamson, Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid and others shared their thoughts about Taylor through video.
“I just wanted to send this message across to congratulate you on a wonderful career with New Zealand. You have been a legend for New Zealand cricket, you have been a great ambassador for the game, and we have shared some amazing memories together. All the best, I will be watching and I am sure that you will have that iconic smile on your face like you had all these years,” Kohli said. Kohli and Taylor had played alongside each other for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Taylor is the first Kiwi player to player more than 100 matches in all the three formats for New Zealand. With an impeccable international career, Taylor has played 450 matches (112 Tests, 236 ODIs and 102 T20s) throughout, scored 18,199 runs with an average of 42.78 and has made 40 hundreds and 93 fifties.
The 38-year-old has national record of Most ODI runs, most ODI hundreds and most ODI fifties for New Zealand.
