The Cahiers Du Cinema magazine consisted of Truffaut, Godard, Rohmer and Chabrol, who later went one to be major directors of the French New Wave

Jean-Luc Godard is one the pioneers of French New Wave and has contributed to global cinema through the use of several radical stylistic choices.

Godard’s films include A Bout De Soufflé (1960), Pierrot Le Fou (1965),  Vivre Sa Vie (1962)

Francois Truffaut was one of the first directors to venture into French New Wave and revolutionised French filmmaking.

Truffaut's films include Le Quatre Cent Coups (1958), Jules and Jim (1962), Baisers Voles (1968)

Alain Resnais had a unique style of his own abd usually worked with screenplays of other writers.

Resnais' films include Hiroshima, Mon Amour (1959), Night and Fog (1956), Last Night in Marienbad (1961)

Agnes Varda is widely known for her feminist cinema and heavy influences on thr French New Wave

Varda's films include Cleo from 5 to 7 (1962), Le Bonheur (1956), La Pointe Courte (1955)
