Stan Lee was born as Stanley Martin Lieber in 1922 in New York

Lee was hired as an editorial assistant at Timely Comics after high school and was made Editor in 1942.

Stan Lee created the 'The Fantastic Four' with Jack Kirby in 1961

Lee created 'Spider-Man' with Steve Ditko in 1962

Sunder in 'Sangam' (1964)

Lee went on to create the 'The Incredible Hulk' and 'The X-Men'

Lee also wrote on books on his life such as 'Origins of Marvel Comics' and 'Excelsior! : The Amazing Life of Stan Lee'

Film adaptations based on Lee's comics such as 'Spider-Man' (2002) and 'X-Men' (2000) went on to earn billions of dollars.

Stan Lee was awarded the National Medal of Arts in 2008 for his contributions
