Record Plantation of 30 Crore Saplings in UP
In a recent “Mann Ki Baat” episode, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the remarkable achievement in Uttar Pradesh where a record-breaking 30 crore saplings were planted in just one day. He highlighted this as a shining example of active public participation and growing awareness about environmental conservation. The campaign aims to honour these valiant heroes and will include the ‘Amrti Kalash Yatra,’ where soil and plants will be carried in 7500 Kalash from different villages and corners of India to Delhi. Near the National War Memorial, an ‘Amrit Vatika’ will be established using the soil and plants from these Kalash.
Addressing Drug Abuse in Country

The ‘NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan’ was launched on August 15, 2020, and has successfully connected over 11 crore individuals with the campaign. Recently, India took a significant step against drugs by seizing and destroying approximately 1.5 lakh kg of drugs, setting a record of eliminating 10 lakh kg of drugs worth over Rs 12,000 crore. The Prime Minister commended all those involved in this noble mission of de-addiction, as drug addiction not only affects families but also impacts society as a whole.
PM Modi also shared an inspiring story from Madhya Pradesh about the transformation of a village called Bicharpur, now known as “Mini Brazil.” The village has become a hub for promising football talents. Haj yatra for women
Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged the heartwarming response from Muslim women who recently completed the ‘Haj’ pilgrimage. He appreciated the positive change in Haj Policy that allowed over 4,000 women to perform ‘Haj’ without any male companion or ‘Mehram.’ In the past, Muslim women were not permitted to undertake this journey without a ‘Mehram,’ making this shift a significant milestone. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the Government of Saudi Arabia for appointing women coordinators to facilitate the smooth pilgrimage experience for these women.
Over 100 Artifacts Returned to India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude to the United States government for repatriating over a hundred rare and ancient artefacts to India. These antiquities date back to a span of 2,500 to 250 years and hail from various regions of the country. The materials used to create these artefacts include terracotta, stone, metal, and wood.
Among the returned treasures, PM Modi highlighted a mesmerizing 11th-century sandstone sculpture of an ‘Apsara’ dancing, originating from Madhya Pradesh. The collection also features many idols from the Chola era, including idols of Devi and Lord Murugan, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu.
Other remarkable pieces include a nearly thousand-year-old bronze statue of Lord Ganesha, an idol of Uma-Maheshwara from the 11th century depicting both deities seated on Nandi, and two stone idols of Jain Tirthankaras. Additionally, two idols of Bhagwan Surya Dev have also been repatriated to India.
A panel made of wood was also among the artefacts, showcasing the story of the churning of the ocean and originating from South India during the 16th-17th century.
