Shortly after Shiprocket’s acquisition of Pickrr, as it was targeted at bolstering its direct commerce operation. Xpressbees, is one of the leading third-party logistics providers. It would now open up over 50 of its facilities to support direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands.
Xpressbees recent move comes at a time when delivery companies have been having strained relationships with logistics aggregators. This resulted in a large pricing spike for aggregators.
D2C firms and huge offline brands that are engaging into online commerce will be able to receive same-day and next-day delivery, as mentioned by Xpressbees. Consumers are accustomed to one-two day deliveries via marketplaces. For example, Flipkart or Amazon India. Therefore faster delivery is a top priority for D2C firms. Xpressbees had previously mostly served huge businesses and ecommerce platforms. It didn’t function well with direct-to-consumer brands.
Xpressbees stated same day delivery
Xpressbees stated in a statement that it offers same-day delivery in 51 cities encompassing more than 1,600 pin codes. As well as next-day regional delivery in 1,000 towns and cities covering 8,200 pin codes.
The other week, delivery announced a guaranteed same-day delivery service in 15 locations. It claims that this will allow D2C firms to deliver web store purchases the same day they are placed. Xpressbees D2C solution would enable companies to dispatch orders from their own website, marketplaces, and any business-to-business (B2B) orders received through their offline franchisees or distributors, according to the company.
“This is a natural extension of our existing capabilities into fresh areas,” Xpressbees founder Amitava Saha remarked. “With a monthly throughput of millions of orders, our platform has shown to be reliable and time-tested.” Thus, they believe it will provide opportunities for both existing businesses. Also, wishing to increase their online presence. Further, the new D2C brands looking to expand their consumer base. The technology would enable them to considerably boost delivery speed while keeping prices low.
After securing $300 million in funding from Blackstone, TPG, and ChrysCapital earlier this year, Xpressbees became a unicorn.
