Announcing the arrival of spring with a kiss in pink, Zendaya has made heads turn at her second huge red carpet event of the year – the 29th Screen Actor Guild Awards 2024, held in Los Angeles on Sunday. The actress was wearing a blush pink Valentino gown – exuding both a softness, and yet a vibrance and zeal that is unmatchable.
The ‘Euphoric’ SAG Experience
Zendaya has been nominated for a SAG Award in the category “Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama series” for her excellent acting in an emotional role in HBO’s series, ‘Euphoria’ as Rue Bennett. This is auspicious for the actress as it is her first-ever SAG nomination. She was additionally, one of the presenters of the night as well.
The Screen Actors Guild Awards recognise the best acting performances in cinema and television from the previous year. Andrew Garfield presented Sally Field with the SAG Life Achievement Award during the 2024 event, hosted at the Fairmount Century Plaza in Los Angeles. Zendaya, Cate Blanchett, Michelle Yeoh, Angela Bassett, Jenna Ortega, Austin Butler, Brendan Fraser, Jennifer Coolidge, Barry Keoghan, and Ke Huy Quan were among the nominees for the evening.
Zendaya has kept a quiet profile for the most of the new year. She spoke to Vogue Italy last year about coping with newfound A-list stardom in the aftermath of Spider-Man and Euphoria’s tremendous success, as well as her thanks to her lifelong admirers who respect her privacy.
Slaying In Pink
Zendaya wore a pink strapless custom Valentino Haute Couture dress embellished with about 190 matching pink roses on the skirt, which gave the look a very delicate touch. Preceding the voluminous floral-embellished skirt was the top portion featuring a corset-like insert. The pale pink hue, the corseted bodice, the cute life-sized rosettes extending from the waist to the dramatic trail – everything summed up to create an extremely flowery look – as if the actress was a harbinger of spring herself.
The pastel pink attire, teamed up with shimmering Bulgari jewellery – a diamond choker necklace with green, orange and purple gems created a showstopper look for Zendaya. She donned a diamond cuff on her wrist too – all the while keeping the look subtle. The entire ensemble was a culmination of her collaboration with her long-standing stylist Law Roach.
With vibrant blush, a hint of pink eyeshadow, and doe-eye-like eye liner, the actress emulated movie star elegance. Her hair was fashioned in easy bouncy curls.
Another Heartstopper Look
Zendaya changed into another strapless gown later in the evening when presenting an award alongside Paul Mescal. A sequined black bustier, as well as pale pink and baby blue diagonal sections, were featured in the colour block number. She also swapped out her jewellery for another Bulgari diamond necklace with an oval aquamarine centre.
Always chic and polished from head to toe, Zendaya has walked the red carpet in everything from voluminous floral gowns, to menswear-inspired suits, to daring looks. Throughout her career, she has been a staple in the fashion industry. In 2019, Zendaya released a two-season collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger. She’s also been the face of Valentino, Bulgari, Lancôme and Covergirl.
